Embark on a journey that will captivate your heart and mind as we bring to life a story of love and courage

About 96.5

The story of 96.5 begins in 1985, when Captain Jeon, Jaeyong of the Kwangmyeong 87 welcomed 96 Vietnamese refugees aboard to his ship. Due to diplomatic challenges faced by the South Korean government in the lead-up to the 1988 Olympics, the refugees were held at the Busan refugee camp. Over time, the tale of 96.5 faded from public memory.
In 2004, Peter Nguyen, one of the rescued refugees, invited Captain Jeon to Los Angeles and reignited the world’s interest in this remarkable story of bravery and humanity.
Inspired by Captain Jeon’s courageous act, we’ve crafted a fictional film that not only honors his legacy but also aims to inspire those searching for the beauty in love and life.
